This tracing was recorded from a full term infant at the age of 4 to 8 hours. During labor she suffered from shoulder dystocia. She underwent resuscitation with bag and mask ventilation. Her Apgar score was 3, 6 and 8 at 1, 5 and 10 minutes of age. Cord blood gases were not taken but upon admission to the neonatal ward her arterial blood pH was 7.18. The infant was ventilated in the neonatal ward due to respiratory distress. Her CFM tracing showed in a few places silent elecroencephalographic seizures, that were confirmed in a conventional EEG. The infant recovered quite well until discharge.
In this tracing, that was recorded close to delivery, the voltage is abnormal (min<5, max>10) and it lacks the fluctuations of the sleep-wake pattern. Later on the voltage went up and eventually a sleep wake pattern appeared.
The impedence electrode did not operate at this recording.
